The mission of Northwest Rapid Manufacturing is to be the premier provider of rapid manufactured prototypes and production parts, using the latest manufacturing techniques. Through superior process control, operational excellence, and unmatched customer service, we are building a legacy business, to serve thousands of customers for generations to come.
Northwest Rapid Manufacturing’s parent company, Northwest UAV Propulsion Systems (NWUAV), first purchased “prototype” parts from the open market. Part quality was often poor and delivery was unreliable. Thin parts were quite often held together with glue rather than fully bonded by the laser. In early 2008, NWUAV purchased its own equipment. Just days after installation, the EOS P 390 became a workhorse, producing strong thin-wall parts with no post-processing.
To build on this quality and competency, Northwest Rapid Manufacturing (NWRapid) was formed in late 2008. NWRapid is a woman-owned company and part of the NWUAV Family of Companies in McMinnville, OR. NWRapid works closely with NWUAV to address applications for the UAV industry. The materials and processes for the UAV industry lend well to other high performance industries.
After more than a year of 24/7 operation, Northwest Rapid Manufacturing’s P 390 was joined by an EOS P 730 machine. With the P 730 taking over the bulk of production, the P 390 was freed for use in development projects and production/experimentation with specialty materials. In 2012, a new EOS P 760 joined our stable of hard-working SLS machines!
