Q. Is laser sintering only for making prototypes?
A. No, thousands of our parts have been produced as production parts on UAVs.
Q. Can sls parts be produced overnight and delivered within 24 hours?
A. Yes, our std PA12 materials and finishes are often offered to our local customers at exceptional speed. Other materials and finishes take a bit longer but are often delivered in days. Weeks less than conventional methods.
Q. Can I can print anything?
A. Yes, but there are still good designs and bad designs. Sharp corners create stress risers and make sure you can access fastener holes that can't be machined but can be laser sintered.
Q. What is the correct name for the SLS process?
A. Although the Industry in general has taken steps to promote the term "Additive Manufacturing" as a standard, a variety of terms have come into being to reference the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process. They include:
