SLS Laser Sintered Nylon Parts
NW Rapid's standard nylon 12 laser sintering material (EOS PA2201) is a great general purpose material with exceptional chemical resistance.
Std PA12 is:
- cost effective
- tough and flexible yet rigid
- light weight and is well suited for many high performance applications including fuel tanks
This is the material that we have utilized to produced thousands of light-weight thin walled parts.
PALS laser sintering Materials are light-weight structural nylons that are stiffer than std PA12
Still very early in their maturation is our new and exciting PALS family of materials. These are light-weight structural nylons formulated specifically for the UAV and aerospace industries.
These sls materials are designed to:
- decrease weight
- increase stiffness
- increase toughness and durability
- in many cases, they are also optimized to be used with minimal post processing
Our exclusive PALS sls materials include:
- Original PALS which is lighter and stiffer than our std PA12
- PALS Plus which is booth more rigid and tough and about the same weight as std PA12
- PALS Biolite which both minimizes weight and impact to the environment with a density about 2x that of Styrofoam - weights can be further reduced with innovative design techniques such as structural lattices
- Custom blends are also possible.
Our parts can also be made of other off the shelf materials from various manufacturers including EOS, ALM, 3D Systems, and Windform. Many of these materials are similar to one another and all are as heavy or heavier than our typical offerings. View our materials and data sheets.
